Color is misleading - not all black

We liked the style of this shoe however the top piece of leather is not black like the rest of the shoe. It is a faded black leather look. We ordered two sizes to try and this different color top was the case on both pairs so it seems a feature, which is not depicted on the website. The website photos show the shoe to be solid black throughout.
