From decorated Green Beret sniper, UFC headliner, and all around badass, Tim Kennedy, a rollicking, inspirational memoir offering lessons in how to embrace failure and weather storms, in order to unlock the strongest version of yourself. Tim Kennedy has a problem; he only feels alive right before he's about to die. Kennedy, a Green Beret, decorated Army sniper, and UFC headliner, has tackled a bull with his bare hands, jumped out of airplanes, dove to the depths of the ocean, and traveled the world hunting poachers, human traffickers, and the Taliban. But he's also the same man who got kicked out of the police department, fire department, and as an EMT, before getting two women pregnant four days apart, and finally, been beaten up by his Special Forces colleagues for, quite simply, being a selfish asshole. In Scars and Stripes, Kennedy describes how these failures shaped him into the successful businessman and devoted husband and father he is today. Through unbelievably vivid, wild anecdotes Kennedy reveals all the dumb, violent, embarrassing, and undeniably heroic things he's done in his life, including multiple combat missions in Afghanistan, building a school in Texas for elementary kids, and creating two-multimillion-dollar businesses.

Terrible and full of lies

This book is almost nothing but lies see the Antihero podcast for all the details, but Tim lies in this book like the whole thing is fictional. And even the title of the book is stolen from a Vietnam veteran that was a POW.

Intriguing and great read from start to finish

I thought I knew Tim social media. Right, wrong or indifferent, a lot of made up their mind on the guy form what they've seen on IG. However, I think he did a really goob job of pulling back the curtains a bit and letting "us" in. From the Creek Gang, that most any kids in the 80s could resonate with, to special operations overseas in far away places, Tim takes you for a ride. I have a newfound respect for his honesty and approach toward many things he's outspoken on. If you want to get to know the "real Tim", I think you owe it to yourself to give this a read.

If only we had more Tim Kennedys......

A great read entailing the trials and triumphs of a modern day warrior. Tim really brings it - from beginning to end. If you have served - this book is for you, if you love this country - this book is for you. If you want to know how we remain a free country in the midst of all the turmoil in the world - it's due to guys like this that put their lives on the line to keep us free. God bless our men and women in uniform. Rock on TK!

A truly honest account from a humble perspective

I found it very refreshing that such an accomplished individual was capable of recounting his story with such humility. Very detailed and well written. It's the behind the scene look I was hoping for but I honestly didn't think I would get. Every time I have seen Tim online or on television he seemed too hyperactive to sit down and really discuss how he got where he is in so many words. This was a truly honest account of a person who has been humbled by life. Should be required reading for school aged athletes or anyone in the competitive realm.

Full of amazing stories that are so authentic

From the very start of the book, you get an example of the great writing and fun you're going to get for the entire journey. This book is a great reminder that the best things in life are often achieved through some of the hardest moments, trials, and failures.
