Sleeping in Heaven!
This bed is the softest bed I have ever tried. We have been searching for a new bed for over a year now. The minute we both tried this bed, we knew, THIS was the bed for us! Every other bed we tried and we tried all the brands at many stores don't even come close to this luxiry of this product. Even those foam beds are hard compared to this mattress! Simmons Beautyrest thank you for such a terrific product! You certainly have outdone yourself with the invention of the NxG series mattresses. This bed comes in firm (still very cushiony) or soft (plush). The plush is softer than ALL ultra plush mattresses on the market. Not a spring to poke you and get very supportive! We look forward to the arrival of our new bed soon! If you are in the market, you will be shortchanging yourself if you don't give this mattress a try. You will never want to go back to a regular bed!
We absolutely love our NxG 400!!!
We purchased this mattress set during Macy's July 4th sale. We have only good things to report after several weeks of comfortable & sound sleep. Before the NxG, both my husband & I would wake up in the mornings with back & shoulder aches & pains, but not anymore. We were afraid that the foam layer might sometimes be hot, especially during the summer, but we stay cool all through the night. We didn't even have to adjust to sleeping on a new mattress. We have slept soundly since the very first night. We highly recommend the NxG 400 to anyone shopping for a new mattress. It's AWESOME!
Ahhh...Sleep. Finally!
I have always been a fan of Simmons mattresses however, mine was 12 years old and didn't have some of the new comfort amenities like the advanced memory foam. I did my research and narrowed my choices down to 4. This NxG 400 won me over with its plush comfort yet firm support. The bed lives up to its claim -- "Pocketed Coil® springs conform to your body and eliminate mattress motion, Ultra 360-degree foam encasement provides ultimate edge support..." I haven't been able to sleep well for the past few years but this mattress has ended that problem. Note: you really need a soft pillow rather than a firm one due to the fact that you do sink down into the comfort of the mattress so you need to have a pillow that adjusts as well. I thought there was little difference between this mattress and the NxG 525 but there was a slight benefit in this mattress over NxG 250. Oh, I chose the low profile box spring and it is still a pretty tall bed. Make sure you have the newer deep pocket sheets because ordinary sheets won't fit. I have been recommending this mattress to everyone! Yes ladies, those sleepless nights are now behind you. Enjoy! P.S. If your old mattress is still in good condition, please donate it to a charity instead of having Macy's remove it for you. By law, Macy's must throw out your old mattress. So, think "Green" and donate your mattress so it doesn't end up in a landfill.
Simmons NXG 400 Plush Mattress
The jury is still out on my new Simmons NXG 400 Plush mattress. I do not get consistently deep sleep on it. Many mornings, I wake up with lower back ache(I sleep on my back). I have tried to sleep on my side on this mattress, but then my muscles ache(such as near the hip bone and down my leg), and I do not get the back support I need to stay on my side. I suspect that the lower gauge coils(15 gauge, compared to the 13 gauge in the firm models), combined with too much foam in the Eurotop keep my back too far from the support to be effective. Can anyone who has purchased and kept this model comment on their experiences?--Hopeful customer

It is not the foam that makes the bed too soft - It is actually the spring system. The Plush version of the NxG mattress uses a thinner gage coil wire. I purchased the 250 NxG luxury firm and I love it! It has enough memory foam to contour your body and provide an adequate pressure relief (without the memory foam sinking feeling) but has the stiffer spring system to give you the needed support.
If you like sore backs, this is the bed for you
This bed feels excellent in the store but once you are on the bed for a nights sleep you begin to sink in... misaligning your back causing soreness. The foam is too "squishy" and provides too much resistance. I was not impressed with the bed and will be switching to the more traditional Simmons beautyrest exceptionale pembroke. I have slept on many beds (travel a lot) and have never woken up sore until I had the NXG 400.
