Bait and switch membership fees

Speediance was a good choice because it was marketed as a no-subscription smart gym. Months later, the company rolled out Wellness+ and moved the headline AI coaching behind a paid plan. Core lifting still works without paying, but the “smart” guidance that helped sell the product now costs extra. That feels like a bait-and-switch. What changed (with dates) Feb 20, 2025: Speediance introduces Wellness+—AI assistant, smart plans, etc.—while saying “your lifetime benefits remain intact.” Translation: basic workouts stay free; AI becomes a separate product. Jul 1, 2025 launch: Wellness+ starts at roughly $19.99–$24.90/mo or $149–$249/yr (price varies by channel/region). Owners on Reddit also note inconsistent pricing across app vs machine. Why this stings Many of us chose Speediance because reviewers and product pages emphasized no required membership. Shifting AI guidance to a paywall later changes the deal! You don't own this!
