there was one review on this desk so I took a risk given the sale price. Wish I would have gotten another one for my other daughter! great, study desk. not sure what complain was on height, was a standard height! Worth the purchase (especially at close out price) we had Macy’s do the assembly which made it all a seamless process!

The desk is pretty heavy and solidly built. That's all I can say in its favor. The size and build of it is very odd. This is a child's desk, which I did not realize when I bought it and could have been much clearer, but even accounting for that, the proportions seem off. It is very low to the ground and has little clearance for your legs. With risers, it becomes too high and the clearance is still insufficient. The wood under the drawers touches the tops of my legs. If I move, the sharp edge scrapes my legs if I'm not careful. This seems particularly problematic if a child is using it. It has an outlet built into it, but it is completely nonfunctional if you have the desk against a wall (the manufacturer instructs you to anchor it to the wall), as it makes the outlet inaccessible. I thought it was a real find and was just a very average normal desk but now I know why it was on such super sale. Bizarre build.

Smelly Desk
The packaging smelled like fish, after I unwrapped the box and removed the pieces. I quickly discarded the packaging. After two weeks, the smell has subsided. I cleaned it several times. It is a very solid desk, and although heavy, I did the assembly alone. It was relatively easy.
