Amazing Book

In Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland, Clay and his friends set out on an adventure that will change their lives, making this book an elegant twist between love, family and courage. In the book there are many challenges and difficulties that Clay and his friends faced, from beginning to end, either the Talons of Peace in the cave or the imprisonment in the Sky Kingdom. Tui T. Sutherland is the author of Wings of Fire, and a Venesuilan American children's writer that doesn't only write children's books, she writes books that are great for adults and kids, whether you're just starting to read or you've already retired. She has written many many books, some directed to adults and some to children, but after reading wings of fire i’m almost positive that they are all at least good if not better. I think that this book is great for a plethora of reasons but one big one is how this book uses graphic novel techniques to make a fictitious book seem realistic. This book uses a balance of graphic novel techniques and delightful word choice to make the book come alive. For example on page 62 there are so many different techniques that it’s hard to count, this shows not just all the important details on the page but also how jam packed this book is with details and storyline. Another example is that this whole book is like a movie in a book, they use words and panels that are so tightly knit they look like they're moving, and it’s details like this that push this book over the edge from good to amazing. This book doesn't end even though the book technically ends. The author isn’t planning for it to actually end, because there are books after books in this amazing series. On the last page the author doesn’t end anything but this physical book, they set up the next book early on and stick with it. One example is that early on in the book Clay and his friends talk about finding their parents, going to the kingdom they came from, and finding their dreams, this is showing that the author develops this theme of “going home” and “finding family” early on and the rest of the books have the same idea. Looking at all these facts and details you can easily assume that whether she is writing an adult book or a children's book they will be great, and this book is no exception, a truly amazing book from start to finish. Others may think that this book is amazing as I say for all the reasons I've said from the background to the other graphic novel techniques. Overall this is a truly amazing book.

I read this and loved it!

This is amazing! It does a great job at taking the original book and making it a visual graphic novel! It’s great for anyone who doesn’t like long books with no pictures.
