A Reese Witherspoon Hello Sunshine Book Club Pick with Over One Million Copies Sold. "Will keep you up. In a 'can't put it down' way. It's 'The Talented Mr. Ripley' with XX chromosomes. " The Skimm"Deliciously duplicitous. . . . equally as twisty, spellbinding, and addictive as Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl or Paula Hawkins's The Girl on the Train. " Library Journal (starred review)A mesmerizing debut about a coolly manipulative woman and a wealthy "golden couple," from a stunning new voice in psychological suspense. Amber Patterson is fed up. She's tired of being a nobody- a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted. To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne a socialite and philanthropist and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale. Amber's envy could eat her alive . . . if she didn't have a plan. Amber uses Daphne's compassion and caring to insinuate herself into the family's life the first step in a meticulous scheme to undermine her.

Full of twists and turns

This book has been on my list since it came out in 2017. So when I received an advance copy for the The Next Mrs. Parrish, it had to read this one. Check one book off my TBR list, only 4,999 more to go. What a fun, guilty pleasure! Told in two voices…Amber, a wannabe on the rich and famous scene and Daphne, the perfect wife, perfect life. We follow these two women and see how their lives come together. What starts as an orchestrated meeting evolves into a so-called friendship, and so much more. We are lulled into focusing on one woman’s obsession with fame and fortune and the other’s perfect husband, family, life. Be careful what you wish for! The man at the center, Daphne’s husband Jackson, is rich, smart, successful with movie star looks. But, under this perfect exterior, is the heart of a sociopath. I did not see that coming! With Amber, I immediately took a strong dislike. She is a the picture of narcissist, a totally unlikable human. My heart is already empathizing for Daphne. A socialite with a heart of gold, although a little naive, or is she? Jackson, a character I loved/hated. The storyline was entertaining, and had me totally absorbed from the beginning. Over the top fun. I loved the character development, taking my assessment of each from one extreme to the another. This book is full of twists and turns which makes it a perfect summer read. It sucked me in at a time when I needed an unputdownable read. As I finish this one, I’m jumping right into the sequel, The Next Mrs. Parrish.

Don't waste your time on this book.

The book was addicting to read chapter by chapter, but by the end it was clear that it was not worth the time. I add one star for reading to the end, which means that the book was still somewhat addictive.

4.3. Duplicity, ambition, determination, indulge…

4.3 Read twice. I first read in 2019 . Reread for tomorrow’s book club. Duplicity, ambition, determination, indulged… Amber Patterson is tired of doing without. After doing research, wealthy Jackson Parrish becomes Amber’s next target. But it will take all of Amber’s cunning and ingenuity to win this prize. Amber insinuates herself into his wife Daphne’s life . She makes herself indispensable in all aspects of Daphne’s charitable and personal life. Who is really the manipulator here? What secrets does this house hold? And what is the REALITY of this seemingly charmed life of the Parrish family? * A wild ending! * A Reese’s book pick. * Many twists! Who is the best schemer of all? * Another follow the money!

Yes!

I loved this book. I thought that Amber was a little cringey at times, she made me sick but as soon as I started reading Daphne's part I was HOOKED. I needed to know what was up her sleeve and could not put this book down. This was the first book I read by Liv Constantine. Safe to say I will buy more from her!

Incredible!!!!

I wish there were more than five stars available here! The Last Mrs. Parrish is the most unique book I have read in a long time. The most of this book is told to us by Amber Patterson. Amber is a 26-year old woman from a poor upbringing, and she hints on bad things happening in her past that she is on the run from. We learn Amber has research a very rich man in Connecticut named Jackson Parrish, and she has a plan to become Mrs. Jackson Parrish. Her plan is well thought out, and she quickly becomes Daphne Parrish's best friend, confidant, gradually becoming like a sister to Daphne. Every word that comes out of Amber's mouth is a total lie, and it appears Daphne believes every word of her stories. Daphne gets her a job in her super rich husband's real estate company where Amber has daily contact with Jackson and begins her work to become his mistress. Amber is successful, and all seems great in her world while Daphne's world appears to be falling apart. But wait.... we're wrong in the best way. I can't go into anymore detail without ruining it for anyone looking at this book.

Trashy but good!!

I have to say this is the worst book I've ever read but couldn't put down. I hated the characters, the horrible writing in stilted English, short sentences describing thoughts in the noggin and abuse in the home.Yikes. It got much better when the real Daphne was revealed. It's like the other sister was writing? Not recommending due to embarassment!!
