Nice shorts

Love them but they ran a little tight on me. I sized up. Returns online easy but can exchange in 1 step.

Beware of sizing change from older (seemingly same) style

I have been buying these shorts for at least 10 years. They are nice and lightweight for the summer. Unfortunately, it appears they have been revamped from the older styles and the inseam is slightly shorter, but the sizing in significantly off. I have both Medium (which are just too baggy) and Small (perfect fit) of the old style so I ordered the Small in 3 different colors. When they arrived, I tried them on and they were VERY snug. I put them up to the old Small I had and there was at least 1/2" - 3/4" difference. It would be helpful to loyal customers to make mention in the description that there was a slight design change that may affect the consistency of the sizing to older styles. I'm pretty much stuck with these 3 but next time I will go on line and chat with their customer service to get a more accurate measurement before buying.

Not the same!

I have worn the Aphrodite shorts for years, and loved them. Now they are completely different - much shorter on the outside than on the inseam, the fabric feels different, and they are tighter. I hate to have to switch to a different brand after all these years, but the search begins.

They changed the fit, not the same

I really wish they didn't change the fit from the Aphrodite Motion shorts. Those were much better. I am 5'10, 135 lbs normally a small in the original shorts, and now I have to order a large. Makes no sense why they changed this. Will not be buying the new style.

Runs small

As a petite woman (size 2), I am consistently pleased to find that a Northface XS always fits perfect. Unfortunately, these shorts run small. They fit tighter and are shorter in rise than shown on the model. I'd size up.

Great multi-purpose short!

I've purchased 3 pairs of these shorts over the past 6 years, and they are my go-to for hiking and backpacking. I am 5'7" 130 lbs, rectangle body shape, and wear a size small for a slightly loose fit. The waistband is a fairly soft, stretchy fabric and is good for wearing with a backpack hip-belt (no buttons/snaps/belt loops to rub). During thru-hikes and long days of wearing a backpack, the ribbed texture of the waistband does rub a little uncomfortably on my hip bones (easily solved with a bit of Leukotape). The water-repellent shorts fabric is very lightweight, breathes well, and packs down well. 4-star rating accounts for sizing inconsistencies between years and colors. This seems to be a problem with many companies that manufacturing products in multiple locations, as may be the case with North Face. Otherwise, I LOVE these shorts!

Great all around shorts

I bought these shorts in the past and loved them so much I wanted more. The new ones I bought felt tighter in the waist band, but then stretched out comfortably.

No go and bad fit

These do NOT run true to size, purchased a small. For reference I'm 5'1" 129#, ended up returning them. The fit is also odd, it "balloons" out.
