"This book blew me away, completely. Gripping from page one, I - quite literally - couldn't put it down." - Christina Lauren, New York Times bestselling author of The Unhoneymooners Growing up, Mallory Dodge learned that the best way to survive was to say nothing. And even though it's been four years since her nightmare ended, she's beginning to worry that the fear that holds her back will last a lifetime. Now, after years of homeschooling, Mallory must face a new milestone - spending her senior year at a public high school. But she never imagined she'd run into Rider Stark, the friend and protector she hasn't seen since childhood, on her very first day. It doesn't take long for Mallory to realize that the connection she shared with Rider never really faded. Yet soon it becomes apparent that she's not the only one grappling with lingering scars from the past. And as she watches Rider's life spiral out of control, Mallory must make a choice between staying silent and speaking out - for the people she loves, the life she wants and the truths that need to be heard.

Wish I could read this for the first time again

Although JLA has arguably written some questionable pieces of literature, this is definitely not one of them. I remember reading this and being like, "yo this is actually kind of good" and then being like, "oh wow this is top 10 favorite books behavior." If you're on the fence about reading this one, I say go out and do it. I did not feel like I wasted my time on this book, and wish I could go back in time and read it for the first time, it was just that good. The character development is immaculate, and the individual character traits introduced are different from JLA's usual outlines in past books.

She’s done it again!

I’ve read a few of Jennifer L. Armentrout’s books and all of them have been amazing, so I decided to pick this book up. She did not disappoint. I was hooked from start to finish. Would 100% recommend!

Emotional book!

3.5 YA drama isn't something I really enjoy, but JLA makes it so it is bearable. This story was highly emotional and I felt so much for the characters and the terrible situations they were put in. I love how he was such a protector, forever, even when he was so broken too
