We bought this back when we bought our house in 2014/15 and we have never looked back. We're in our 40s and we're both active but heavier people. Every time we go out of town we can't wait to get back to our purple mattress lol we love it. Im considering buying a new one ONLY because we've had this thing for 10years.

The "Honey-Moon" Phase When you first lie on a Purple, it feels like nothing else. The GelFlex Grid does a phenomenal job of "buckling" under your shoulders and hips while staying flat under your back. For a side sleeper, it provides that rare "zero-gravity" sensation. It's also arguably the coolest-sleeping mattress on the market because the grid is mostly air. The Breakdown (Heavy Sleeper Reality) While the grid is marketed as "ultra-durable," the reality for heavier body types is different. Over time, the grid can lose its structural "memory," leading to what feels like a collapse in the center. Once that support goes, you aren't just sleeping on a mattress-you're sleeping in a hole. For a side sleeper, this means your spine is permanently curved, leading to that tell-tale lower back pain in the morning. The Warranty Experience: "The Waiting Game" This is where the real frustration sets in. While Purple offers a 10-year warranty, navigating it is currently a test of patience. • Lengthy Processing: The communication has been significantly slower than expected. • The "Busy" Team: It seems their warranty department is currently overwhelmed, leading to long silences and slow follow-ups. • The Hoop-Jumping: Like many "bed-in-a-box" companies, they require specific photos of "visual sag" (often measured with a string and a ruler), which doesn't always capture how the grid feels when it's actually under the weight of a person. Bottom Line: If you are a lighter sleeper, the Purple is a cooling marvel. If you are a heavier sleeper, the grid's longevity is a gamble-and if you lose that gamble, be prepared for a warranty process that takes much longer than you'd like.
