I bought this book a while ago but never got to read it. I started reading it this past month and am so glad I did. This is an amazing book and the story between Kahlen and Akinli is just beautiful the ending even moved me to tears.

Read it Every Summer!
Literally my favorite love story. I recommend it to any hopeless romantic who will listen. I have a deep love for mermaids and sirens and this lore outdid itself. It's practically the definition of a beach book. The love shown by the main love interests is so pure and strong like a real fairytale. I love the allegory of the character of the ocean as God and His powerful mercy and unstoppable love for His people. I had no idea Kiera wrote it as that while reading it the first time but I still connected the dots, though I felt less weird making the comparison. I love the other sirens. I love the noncommitment of stand-alone but this one truly left me wishing there was a series, which doesn't happen much for me.

This Book tho
This was the first book that i read in my new school. They had it in the library and I was like " Well let me see what this is all about". So i got the book read it, and gworl....this book is so good. I don't want to say any spoilers but I defenitly recommend to teenagers and Young Adults. I would even recommend this book to kids younger than that. But this book is such a well written book, I could just read this over and over and over again. 10/10

Not enough romance for that being a major theme
It was pretty good! Not amazing, not better than the selection, but not bad, much better than The Betrothed. I’m not trying to sell the book you can look up the description if you want, just review. I enjoyed reading this book. I wasn’t rushing to read it in my free time, but it was fun to read. The plot twist wasn’t crazy but enjoyable. It was well written. I wouldn’t really call this a romance despite that being an essential part of the book which is odd. Like if I wanted to read a Kiera Cass Romance I’d read the selection (specifically the original trilogy at most). There wasn’t enough experience with this to make me giggle and smile at the love. Like I couldn’t tell that they were in love by the words on the page until they were stated. It was more of a love is a feeling as a book which is hard to emerse yourself in. Like if it happens to you yes but it’s hard to describe. The Betrothed is like that too and I think that’s why it wasn’t loved. The Selection though is just perfect. And I think it is because it takes America and Maxon three books to fall in love. The other 3 stories of her are too fast and not descriptive enough. And also the Selection makes us fall in love with Maxon too. I’m going to give this 3 stars because I liked it. Not sure if I would recommend to a friend unless they had a special interest in something in the book.
