Not What I Expected
The Twin was my first book by Natasha Preston and I had some decent hopes going into it because it sounded like a really good story. By the third chapter I just wanted to be done with the book. The story focuses on sixteen year old twins Ivy and Iris and life after their mother passes and they are back living together with their dad. I tried so hard to remind myself that they were only sixteen in this book, but Ivy gave off older vibes in the beginning (think closer to eighteen, about to graduate) and then just turned into something completely different. Some of her friends actions I could brush off as typical young teen behavior but it honestly got to the point that it felt like they were pre-teen girls instead. How are you best friends for years with someone and then a new person shows up and you hang on their every word? Don't even get me started on the adults in this book and how deeply disturbed I was on how the therapist was portrayed. Knowing people whose career's are in therapy I was put off on how the author turned them into a joke. The ending was completely rushed after a long drawn out story and left with a major cliff hanger and unrealistic outcomes.

not worth it
the book has a good story but theres so many plot holes where you wish there was more. i was frustrated throughout reading this book because of the fact that theres no redemption for the protagonist EVER also its SO predictible i predicted almost everything before it happened theres not really any twists although it is a page turner, i knew the ending less than halfway thru and the ending is TERRIBLE you are left feeling like you never finished the book, dont even waste your time reading it

Confused and Content
The book is definitely a page turner, and I enjoyed reading it though it left the story so open ended I wanted more! What happened to poor Ivy.

Not worth it
The overall story was fine but she kept building to a redemption for the main character where everyone finally believes her… and then the book just ends.

just don’t do it
I usually don’t hate books and I’ve read a lot of them, but this one definitely showed me that I could hate a book. unless you like books that make you mad then don’t read it. there’s no redemption for the good guy (or girl in this case). don’t waste your time

So much potential
I loved this book until it literally was cut off at the end. I feel like it didn't end. I feel like it just stopped. So I loved the story but disliked how the end was just cut off. We either need a 2nd book or I'm making my own ending in my head. Besides that I loved the story.
