The Word Is Murder (Hawthorne and Horowitz Mystery #1) by Anthony Horowitz
Product details
Web ID: 8513724An Ingenious Novel!
I discovered (so to speak) Anthony Horowitz as a writer because I enjoyed the PBS Magpie Murders and then wanted to read the novel. Discovering that Anthony (don't call him Tony!) created Midsomer Murders (one of my favorite PBS shows) and Foyle's War also impressed me, so I got this book, and I really enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed it
It has been a while since a book really drew me in. Had a hard time putting it down until I was finished.

A clever man
Anthony Horowitz is quite a writer, books and screen. I think he decided to have some fun with this book. True life events mesh with fictional ones with Horowitz being the link. A part of my brain kept trying to figure out which reality any given person or event was: real or fictional. But only part of my brain. Most of the time I was just enjoying the ride.
