The Typhoon Otto whistling jettle

This was a gift for my sister, who had been searching for a “good ol’ whistling kettle”. She was totally overjoyed to receive this kettle. In addition to the whistle, she is very pleased with the design and says it is “first class”.

Disappointed

I usually never right reviews but I was EXTREMELY disappointed with this purchases It's a beautiful kettle but within a week the rubber around the handle and "nostrils" melted. Additionally the metal spring around the tea hole came off. I'm returning it asap.

Could be better

I’ve never had a whistling tea kettle before and thought it would be fun to have one. Unfortunately, this one doesn’t whistle. I like the look of it, so I’ve decided to keep it.

Nice look and feel with a whistle

I've been wishing for a kettle with a whistle for awhile. This kettle has a nice weight, the lid fits tightly (be sure to put it in securely or you'll lose the whistle). I'm pleased with the look of the copper and black - it looks good sitting on the hob between use. It does take quite awhile to heat up and you have to be sure not to overfill or it will boil over through the spout. The spout pop-up works well so far and the handle definitely doesn't overheat (another advantage to my vintage wood handled kettle) so overall pleased with my purchase. This is being used on a gas stove top currently but hopeful it may work even better on my induction stove top but not sure enough of the base will make contact for it to work.
