Dog widget review

I bought for the sole purpose of the dog tracking thru the Alpha 300. Linked fine but then wouldn’t leave the map page. Spent 2 hours in the phone with support, they couldn’t figure it out either. Next day happened to hit a different sequence of buttons and it worked - per the written instruction it should not have worked. Once working, I liked the function of the dog tracking but in the Pro View the directional arrow is too small. It’s hard to see at a glance - you have to really look at it which somewhat defeats the purpose of the watch.

Does everything you could want a watch to do

Bright screen? Check Advanced health metrics? Check Training coaching? Check Battery life approaching 2 weeks? Check Reliable path navigation? Check Big screen for displaying lots of info? Check Fast GPS connection? Check Easy set up on a well thought out app? Check Comfortable and secure band? Check Music on wrist? Check Money on wrist? Check Messages on wrist? Check Notifications on wrist? Check Its a fantastic watch for running, hiking, outdoor sports….you name it. This is an excellent upgrade from my Vivofit HR, which i loved.

I can see the screen!

I started my hike/backpack watch use with the Garmin Fenix 3. Once you learn which buttons are linked to which features, it is easy! I love how easy it is to view the watch face especially as I get older! The one thing to keep in mind with all smart watches, you need to update the watch on a regular basis.

This is my first Garmin and I absolutely love it! I use it mostly for tracking runs, but other activities like hiking here and there. Super easy to use, love the customization options.
