Easy to use

We bought our Ultra 3 to use in our family room which is approximately 20x30 with 10 ft ceiling. We set it on low with a 50% humidity level output. It will run approximately 8 hrs and our indoor weather station shows it will reach up to 44% humidity . We are please so far and hope to years of use out of it.

Great at humidifying

This unit does a great job at throwing moisture into the air, which is, clearly, it's main purpose. It's fan is fairly noisy, and the reservoir holds only 9/10 of a gallon with the cap filter attached. It's very easy to put too much water in, and then have an overflow when replacing the cap. The tank volume is insufficient to run on "high" for a full day. That shows the amazing performance of the humidifier's capabilities, but the tank is just too small for my needs. While there's rarely room for improvement in a Vornado product, tank size would be the exception here. I'm considering a non-ultrasonic Vornado purchase. This humidifier seems to be a hiccup in the ever-amazing Vornado product line. I'm sincerely satisfied with every other Vornado product in my home.

Vornado Humidifier A+

I bought this unit for my office in a building with no humidification during the winter. My existing unit did not have the power to push the water mist into the room like the Vornado and I could tell right away I had a superior unit. I am very happy and would recommend this humidifier to anyone.

Design improvements needed

It is difficult to handle the water tank while filling it. It cannot be rested in the sink but must be awkwardly juggled by holding the thin handle. Also, the electronic beeping sounds make it difficult to use at night without waking up others.

Ultra 3 humidifier

I like the idea of no paper filters to buy. Wonder that will be better over all. Had about a month so far so good.

Very finicky. Buy a different model.

I bought this a year ago. The problem is trying get the water level right so it pushes out water. What happens is the water chamber water level sensor isn't good. So it doesn't turn on until there is too much water. And when that happens while the machine is running the nebulized water doesn't put out much because there's too much water hitting it. So it takes about an hour for the water level to get right and the it pushes out water. Also the water container isn't easy to put in. Look for a different model.

WARNING!!!

WARNING!!!! This is not the identical unit to what was sold about 5 years ago. It uses a different wick that is incompatible with MD-0001

Great, but eventually breaks down

I've been a Vornado fan for 15+ years and think their design folks make great products. But reliability on this particular product is not their strength. Of the three that I own, one one stopped working before the end of the season, and the other two did not last past their third season.
