Grey “Stain” washes off with water

Purchaed two years ago, and within less than a year, I went to wipe off the table and chairs with a cloth and water, and the stain came off in spots. If any water gets on the table whatsoever, the stain comes off in certain areas. So we started covering the furniture and storing it inside over the winter. If anything rubs up against the furniture as in a cushion pad, dishes, or your arms resting on the armrest, the grey “stain” comes off as well. when the stain rubs off it leave brown wood showing. we bought the table, 8 chairs, two coffee tables, and two end tables. So after two years, I’m left with furniture that I’m going to have to strip and stain and seal.. Not worth the price extremely cheap.
