Great Ending

Title: War Storm Author: Victoria Aveyard Release Date: May 15th, 2018 Page Count: 672 Format: Paperback/Audiobook Start Date: May 23rd, 2022 Finish Date: June 3rd, 2022 Rating: 5 Stars Review: I may have loved this series, but I can't say that I'm sad it's over. This series took me through an emotional roller coaster. Just when things seemed to be looking up, they crashed back down again. It really felt like there were three sides in the equation. I won't elaborate on that for obvious reasons. I might reread the series again one day, but I'm not really sure. We will see. I will definitely be reading other books by this author. She has a way to keep the reader engaged every step of the way. Also, she can really produce a mad evil antagonist. I wonder if this series will ever become a television or movie series. I definitely would watch them if they do. I think I'd enjoy them very much.

Upset

So when I first started reading the Red Queen series, I loved it, but this book completely ruined it for me. I had a hard time reading it because each chapter made me more and more irritated to the point I considered stopping altogether. Mare and Cal’s relationship is toxic on so many levels and the fact that she kept going back and forgiving him was not a good thing. He would do something wrong (yell at her, betray her, etc.) she said she expected it and things are over between them, then the moment they are together again he says he loves her and she immediately forgives him. And this happened more than once. Also, they never talk about their problems, in the scene at Harbor Bay they never actually have a conversation to smooth things between them, they just start kissing and...yeah. This is just one of my many frustrations with the book. I do not recommend.

Amazing Book!

“A good book is one that makes the reader feel. It takes the reader on a compelling journey.” War Storm by Victoria Aveyard has all the elements of a great book and takes the reader on a journey and makes it feel like they are in the story. From the fascinating setting, detailed plot, and jaw-dropping surprises this book has something for everyone. Usually I read a book in about a month, but this book was so well written and addicting that I finished it within two weeks. This book shows heart break, love, betrayal, and just how powerful you can be when you put your mind to something. I promise you that once you start reading you will not want to stop. War Storm is about Mare Barrow and her friends working to destroy Maven and make sure that there are no more Silver kings. The book also features Evangeline, Cal, Maven, and Iris’s points of views. Which gives the reader a lot more detail about the characters and a look into how they feel about different situations. It also shows them what is happening to other characters during the story. This book starts out with Evangeline telling Mare that she does not want to be queen and that she does not want Cal to be king. Mare is still upset with Cal since he chose the thrown over her and agrees that they need to put an end to Silver royalty. Later in the story, Mare visits her family and explains their plan to them, and they later find out which side Julian (Mare’s old teacher) has chosen. While at a dinner party later in the story that was hosted by Davidson and his husband, raiders also attack. Finally, there is a very surprising death at the end of the story that you will not want to miss. I think that War Storm would appeal to teenagers and adults who love fantasy and adventure, but it truly does have something for everyone. There are plenty of twists, turns, and cliffhangers and Aveyard does a great job of leaving you wanting to read more. Some strengths that this book has is that there is never a dull or boring moment its very action packed. Aveyard also does an amazing job at providing so many details about every setting and character. Although this book is amazing, I found that the focus from character to character too fast and I would have liked for there to be more focus on each character. There is also so much going on in the book that sometimes it is confusing and hard to remember what is going on in each character’s life. There are also too many characters in my opinion, and it gets hard to remember what each character is like and where they fit in in the story. War Storm also only provides us with what happens to all the characters in the book except for Mare and Cal, which I would have also liked to see. I also wish we could have seen more of what Maven thought and felt because in the book before this, Kings Cage, we saw a lot more of Maven and I was so fascinated by the way his mind worked and how he planned all his evil schemes. He really is one of my favorite characters. Overall, War Storm is an amazing book, and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that’s looking for a new series. Red Queen is probably one of my favorite series I have ever read. The series is so fascinating that I am tempted to read it all again. I’m afraid I’ll be disappointed if I ever pick up another book and it doesn’t even come close to the level that this book is at. I’ve been looking for a long time for a series even half as amazing as this one (Around two years), and I so glad I found it.This book has opened my eyes to just how harsh the world and people can be. Although, the first book in the series will always be my favorite this book was amazing, and I am so glad I decided to read it. “A good book is one that makes the reader feel. It takes the reader on a compelling journey.” War storm definitely does a great job of letting the reader feel every heartbreak and betrayal. It takes the reader on a journey along with Mare and we get to see her grow, learn, and mature throughout every book. The Red Queen series is one of the best series I’ve ever come across and I promise that you will not regret trying it out.

Good, but the story needed to be finished.

I loved this series, but this book didn't provide closure to the plot. I hope there's another book soon to come, because I'm left in anticipation of how the story will end!
