Better Have Big Shoulders to Fit!

Sizing is very bad. I wear M for all my clothes. But Macy's M is like an L to me. This outfit was OK in the waist and hips, not super-loose, but with maybe 1" roomier, so I'm not sure if S would have fit me better. Perhaps I should have selected S so that it would be snug. Now the shoulders is another story. The shoulders feels like an XL to me! It's made for women with ample shoulder muscles. I'm just a regular M, but look at the pics of my shoulders! I can't fathom how they size these clothes.
