Do not buy! Mats smell like gasoline!

I’m not sure what manufacturer and/or supplier Macy’s used for these placemats. Upon opening the package I smelled gasoline like fumes. The care instructions said to “spot clean” but I thought there’s just no way I’m setting these on my dinner table smelling like this. So I ran a delicate wash and the gas smell did not budge. I will be returning all six placemats, I hope I receive a refund. Macy’s please do better.
