they look like underwear

I have a pair of Marmot boxer shorts that look very similar to these. I love the boxer shorts. They are great boxer shorts. However, I don't want any shorts that I wear over boxer shorts to also look like boxer shorts. This is where Men's Zephyr 8" Short fails. The front features what looks like a fly for a pair of underwear, which is strange. It is extra strange that this is just a decorative fly that has a flap that flaps outward but does not actually open (not that I'd want it to open). Why do these shorts have a fly? These shorts also have a gigantic chunky elastic waistband that is not dissimilar to the chunky elastic waistband on Marmot's underwear (which, again, are great). The shorts themselves are also made out of stretchy, thin, somewhat clingy material which isn't far off from that in polyester boxer shorts. I will wear these shorts around the house and for a run etc. I will not wear these shorts otherwise in public. They look like underwear and I don't want people to think I'm a guy who walks around in public in his underwear. I think I may have to end up using these shorts as boxer shorts. This is a major design flaw by Marmot. At least I paid a very reasonable price for a pair of new underwear.

Good shorts with some shortcomings

Great pair of shorts. Great fit, I just miss having a drawstring. They are great for the gym or lounging. Biggest downside is you can't carry much in the pockets when exercising or they will start to slip down.

These are very breathable shorts for hiking & trekking. They're useful for trail running as well.

Nice shorts for summer

These are nice, somewhat stretchy material. It's a bit chamois-like, not super fast to dry, but still nice. There's no drawstring which might deter some buyers. You do need to get the size right on this one. I'm a 36 inch waist, happy with the large.
