I bought this because I wanted to have more space to fit all, at least most of the Zwilling J.A. Hackles (made in Germany) knives I am so proud to own. It was also important to me to have the logo, as all the knives are from the brand. I also was impressed that it had the swivel apparatus, however, I bought it because it seemed to be able to hold all the knives I have planed to use it for, so the swivel apparently was not as important to me. So needless to say, when I received it, I liked that it has all the spots for all the knives, however, I didn't care that the swivel made it slightly too tall for my taste, moreover, I am not sure about others, but I felt the swivel made the block slightly more top heavy, causing it to likel tip over; moreover, the lining of the slots, felt haphazard, it made the knives look and feel a bit disorganized to the eye, as well as the setup of knives slots felt too close to each other. So I ended up buying another brand knife block, the one I had been eyeing, when I ended up choosing initial the Zwilling brand, has almost the same knife slots "25," vs "26." moreover it came in the dark color that I preferred, the knives looked more uniform, and the block is shorter/compact, making it feel less top heavy.
This block replaced one that we had for 40 years from Henckel but was much smaller. This holds all of our knives and is very neat and clean
It fits all my knifes, I have very few slots left. It fits in where I wanted it to, not very wide but all my 8 steak knifes fit
