Summer’s almost over, and you know what that means. It’s time to get your kiddos prepped and ready with pencils, books and all the freshest back-to-school looks. The Perfect Size Backpack
Sure, it’ll make you giggle to see tiny tots toting enormous backpacks that probably weigh half as much as they do, but is that practical? Not to mention, this could cause your little one some unnecessary back and shoulder strain if their backpack is too big or too little. To find the perfect size backpack, make sure the width is proportionate to your child’s torso and note that the length should fall at (or slightly above) the waist. Broad, padded straps that adjust are key for distributing weight and adding extra comfort. 

Plenty of Pockets
Slots, compartments and pockets aplenty are super important for keeping your kiddo organized throughout their busy school day. This should also help evenly distribute the weight of heavier items like books and water bottles. Do a quality check and make sure your kids’ backpack is well made and doesn’t have loose stitching, frayed edges or uncovered zippers that are exposed to the elements.

Rain or Shine
To make sure the style you select lasts at least through the school year, choose backpacks for boys and girls that are made from super durable materials like canvas, cotton or nylon. If you live in an area that experiences lots of rain and snow, consider waterproof or water-resistant back-to-school backpacks for added longevity. Styles with reflective strips and zipper pulls are always a good choice for added visibility.
