Check item before giving as gift

Have purchased many as engagement gifts. I had gift sent to me so I could take to party and wrap myself. Glad I did as packing materials inside picture frame box showed signs of a returned item - torn foam padding and ripped black tissue paper. I took out this items and replaced them with white tissue paper I had. As I didn’t have time to go to store or order new one to replace.
