Check that the batteries it comes with work!

The toy just arrived. It's very cute and has some nice features. What I didn't like is that I couldn't try it. The button didn't seem to be working, so we had to remove it from the box and open up the battery compartment. This is going to be a Christmas gift, so I wasn't happy about that! What we found were 3 corroded batteries! The battery terminals were also corroded and had to be scraped off with a knife! Luckily, it does still work with the new batteries we put in. It seems like this toy must've been sitting in a warehouse for a very long time!
