I’m so disappointed with this mattress. It felt the best in the store after trying multiple mattresses for weeks. And retried. And bought. Then it arrived. It felt too firm at first, tossed and turned and not comfortable night one, just figured I’d get used to it since I loved at the store. But it just got worse. After a few days of sleeping on it I got back pain in upper back (never had pain there) by the end of thr week my entire back was spasming and had to even got an ortho. I’ve been sleeping on my old mattress now. Can’t endure one more night on it. I get it that o need time to adjust etc but no mattress should cause discomfort to this extent. Need to return it asap.
Upgraded to a new King Size Bed
We were in the search of a new King size firm mattress. After laying on all the firm mattress choices at Macy's, I quickly knew the King Koil Orchid Hybrid mattress was the the perfect amount of firmness and plush top. A few days later I returned to Macy's with my husband and had him lay on all the mattresses, each one he had some comment about the mattresses. Secretly, I never told him the mattress I wanted and saved my favorite for last... the King Koil Orchard Hybrid mattress. He laid down on the mattress and instantly replied this is the mattress we are purchasing!!! I was happy we both agreed on a mattress. We have had our mattress now for a week and it has improved our sleeping!! Feel great each morning replacing our 12 year old Beautyrest Black for a more expensive King Koil! Highly recommend it is worth the money!
Avoid at all costs !!!
We have had this mattress since October. One side of the bed has caved in. This happens to be on my partner’s side who is lighter than myself. Macy’s will send out a third party company that they hire to do some very shoddy measuring. The results come back that it’s not deep enough to be a manufacturers defect. Anyone with two eyes including the technician could see the pit that has formed. Now we are stuck with a sunken mattress that is 7 months old and we sleep in the second bedroom. Avoid this mattress and considering Macy’s handling of the issue we are going to shop elsewhere. Unfortunately I have to give it 1 Star because there is no Zero Star option.
Orchid is Definitely Firm
I made it a point to go in person to sit, lay, twirl all over the King Koil bed at my local Macy's... and there's no way I would have chosen this extremely hard as a rock mattress. In fact, I told the salesman I didn't want to see any firm mattresses, and yet, this is what was delivered. After one night of sleeping on this mattress, it exacerbated pain in my hips and lower back. When you first lay on it, it gives a false sense of comfort, but then once my body settled, the pain came. I tossed and turned all night, for two days straight (this may not have been enough days for some to say true evaluation). I'm exchanging for the Orchid Plush - I pray it's going to be a "good nights rest". I only recommend this mattress if you know about firm mattresses!
HAPPY so far
It’s literally like sleeping on a cloud. My hip no longer hurts. It’s soft but supportive. I’m concerned the pillow top material won’t wear well. It’s only been a week and I can already see the middle (where no one sleeps) is slightly higher than the left and right sides. This was my concern and issue with the previous mattress we returned to Saatava. I’ll likely need to sleep in the middle of the bed when my husband is traveling on business to avoid it from getting worse. For the price, it shouldn’t happen. I detest mattress shopping. I can only hope it keeps its shape for the next 7 years/until we replace it with another.
Comfortable but has a chemical odor
Would give the mattress 5 stars if it weren't for the odor. I'd compare it to something like "new car smell" which sounds nice but not for something you sleep on - especially when you're buying a cotton mattress to avoid chemicals/toxins. I have no idea what the odor is from but it smells like chemicals and has only faded slightly over the past 3 weeks that I've owned the bed. My in-laws bought the same mattress and have the same issue.
Brick
If you like sleeping on a brick, this bed is for you. Firm is an understatement. Worst choice I ever made. Cannot wait to ge this thing out of my house.
New Bed!
We have been searching for a bed for over 2 years now. Denise at Macy's helped us find our bed and we are very pleased. Her knowledge help us make the decision.
