The ROCKY Code Red: Wildlands 77 is made for Wildland Firefighting. This boot is NFPA 1977 certified and has fire resistant full grain flesh out leather, laces, and stitching. The sidewall stitch construction offers better resistance against wear and tear preventing the Vibram fire and ice jungle outsole from separating from the upper. Inside this boot, the fiberglass shank helps to relieve your foot of ache-inducing impact and our ROCKY Air-Port Comfort footbed provides cushioning. Built in unisex sizing, this is the perfect boot for all Wildland firefighters..

I really like specific features!!

I got these a few months ago, but I live in Florida. This is only the 3rd time I’ve worn them. The upper is kinda tight, but it form fits way better with the tongue being shaped how it is. If you’re planning on fighting fire in them, I’d definitely break them in. For real, like for a Month, at least 10 days. The ankle lace grommets are awesome and the new shape of the tongue specifically. They seem to breathe well, as they should and they’re not waterproof, as they shouldn’t be. Not safety toe(which I appreciate, being old school), overall they’re Badass!!! I like the weight, not too heavy but not light. You’ll know you’re wearing them, until they’re really broken in. The soles are vibram tactical and rated for EH and PR , so enough said. The rough out leather is super easy to clean and keep clean. They’re Black in color with red nomex stitches. They’re a great looking, low profile Boot!

Tough as nails 💅

Rocky boots are hands down the best boot on the market. The special forces units and all military uses this brand for ruck boots which means you can eat- sleep, and run in this type of boots. The firefighter model exceeds any logger boot (high heel) which is outdated and terrible for your back. Rocky boots are tough and hold up to the rigors of wildland fires. Just like any boot you cannot stand in a hot ash pit...Thank you Rocky boots.

Great Boot at a Great Price

I had foot pain from my loggers due to the hard insoles, so I needed to change to a hiker-style boot. This boot seemed reasonably priced for me to try, and I am so glad I took the chance. The quality is fantastic for the price, and these boots are extremely comfortable. I highly recommend you give these a shot if you want to try the hiker-style wildland boot without breaking the bank.

Not recommended for hard work..

These boots are not built for the rigors of hard wildland fire fighting. Soles are thin and you can feel almost everything you step on. Get very hot when working in hot ashes. Tongue doesn't form to your lower leg. Laces are very thin and are hard to tighten. Wasn't expecting much for that price and got pretty much what I expected. I have been in wildland fire for 45 years and this may be my least favorite boot ever and owned/worn most brands: Whites, Nicks, Scarpa, Lowa, Danner, and more.

Great for desert fires and tarmac time

Comfortable, light, great for helitack and/or desert fires. I ordered a medium and wide and the medium ended up having a wide enough toe box for my flintstone feet. I'm a 8.5 women's normally and ordered a 6.5 in this style - fits great.

Best boot out hiker style

I just bought these boots to try, and best traction out of any boot I've owned. Comfortable, lightweight and so far tough and great build quality. My new fav boot will be buying again to have a spare

Great Wildland Boots!

I was surprised when I saw that Rocky brought these boots back into production. Out of the box they are super comfortable and need almost no break in time. I'd put them up there with Haix Missoula comfort-wise with the added benefit of being super lightweight! They are mostly true to size except for the width which is a bit narrower than some other Rocky styles. This is due to the shape of the last, which is more uniform throughout. The S2V, for example, widens out a bit more at the toebox. I found that the width of the Wide size S2Vs roughly matched that of the Extra Wide 77s. Overall, these seem like a great boot for the money, providing they're able to last out on the line. Only time will tell. Until then, these are my new favorite boots.
