This product was okay if you were gonna need your face set for a few hours . Didn’t last long and It did have some effect with different setting powders. I received this product for free from Clinique for testing and review purposes.
Perfect for oily skin!
I received this product for free from Clinique for testing and review purposes. I truly love the Clinique Set The Day setting spray. It's made for all skin types including sensitive and oily! Making it perfect for the summer days. I also appreciate that it's fragrance free and dermatologist tested. The ingredients are impressive including the 5% aloe water making it calming on the skin. I apply it during my morning routine before makeup or even on days I'm not using makeup. Would definitely recommend!
I wouldnt buy this
After testing this out I wouldn’t buy it, and prefer other setting sprays over this. I put on a quick full face of makeup before work around 6am. I put on Clinique even better foundation, contour, highlighter, eye shadow, lip liner, setting powder. I went to work, on my boat on a warm summer night and slept in my makeup for the sake of testing this Clinique setting spray. You’re welcome lol The result: i went to bed and woke up looking like I never put makeup on. So, the product doesn’t work for my needs. The bottle is cute. The sprayer is a bit heavy, I feel distinct droplets hit my face. I prefer a proper mist that doesn’t soak my face. That said, the sprayer is sturdy, and I appreciate that bc I’ve had other setting sprays break bc of a flimsy nozzle, rendering it unusable. Love it
I’ve been using the Clinique Set the Day Makeup Setting Spray for the past week or so and it’s definitely earned a spot in my routine. The mist is super fine, and nice so it doesn’t leave big droplets or disturb my makeup, and it dries down quickly without feeling sticky. I really liked that it gave my skin a fresh, slightly dewy look right after spraying, but it didn’t make me oily later in the day, it smooths out my skin too. I tested it through a full workday and even a humid afternoon, and my foundation stayed intact with minimal creasing. There’s no strong scent, which is a big plus for me since my skin can be sensitive to fragrance. Does not budge
When buying setting spray I always remain skeptical. I ask myself “is this worth the price? Will it live up to the hype of my favorite setting sprays? (All Nighter and Fix +)? I put on a full beat and walked around in 100 degree hot Kansas weather for a few hours, running errands, taking photos, going to the pharmacy and the farmers market. My makeup didn’t budge. My mascara didn’t smear. It was pretty brutal weather yet everything looked okay. I received this product for free from Clinique for testing and review purposes.
Okay but I expected a bit more
I rounded up to 4 stars, but I would give the product 3.5 if I could. I received this product for free from Clinique for testing and review purposes. I do feel like for a setting spray, the product is hydrating, but in some ways I would almost call it too hydrating. I like to spray layers of setting spray as I do my makeup in order to lock it all in/meld it all together, and using the product as recommended would cause larger droplets of spray to be on my face that needed a good minute to dry down. I see other reviews saying they love the mister, so perhaps mine was a dud, but this issue really increased the amount of time I needed to apply makeup. I also prefer continuous misters for setting sprays, which this one is not. That being said, it did help my makeup last longer, and once it dried down, did not tend to break up my favorite makeup products that I had underneath.
Long lasting
I’ve been trying out this setting spray for about a week now in different settings and I feel that this is going to be my next go to spray. I’ve used it for a day in the office, work outing, and a day out in the city. The first time I think I made a mistake as I looked incredibly greasy so I think adding moisturizer beforehand just overdid it for me. I have combination skin and this didn’t irritate and made my makeup last longer overall. I’ve tried the Mac fix it and the tarte setting spray and none have lasted as much as Clinique. I would say definitely give it a good shake beforehand if not a lot of little white dots will be all over your face. Besides that this is a wonderful setting spray with a really nice fine mister. A must have!
I've been using this makeup setting spray during the day and it's amazing! It feels super lightweight, sets my makeup beautifully, and keeps it fresh for hours without feeling dry. I love that it has no strong scent and leaves my skin feeling hydrated. Definitely a must-have in my makeup routine.
