Underwhelming, predictable

I have read 5 out of 6 of Shari Lapena's books so I guess it is safe to say that I am a fan. I know that her writing style is not that strong but somehow I like how her stories are simple yet enjoyable (for me). But this book though is her weakest. It is like watching a low-budget movie shot in just 3 locations (Karens' House, the Police station, and the crime scene) with only 6 underdeveloped characters. However, I felt that she tried to develop the characters but their inner dialogues are just ridiculously cringey for my taste. I am also bothered that the writing was too calculated, that it becomes predictable. I am still gonna read her books though. :)
