Nice sneaker but develops holes easily

Is it my son being rough with them or are these sneakers prone to developing holes? I’m not sure, but it has happened twice with two pairs of this same sneaker. They appear to be of good quality, have nice cushioning to them and fit true to size. I love that the color way prevents dirt from showing, perfect when dealing with little boys. However, they do not last us longer than 4-6 months because inevitably, a hole forms in the toe.
