Both pull chains hard to pull, then both broke

I purchased this and the floor lamp a couple of years ago. The table lamp pull chains on both sides became very difficult to pull within a year, within two years they had both broken off. Fortunately, light sockets are very easy to replace, but for the price, this are complete garbage.
