Extremely disappointed
Smoker will not tell me temperature of smoker while smoking. I can only see temperature set and temperature of probe not the current temperature it is inside smoker. Remote goes blank 15 seconds. No instructions on how to get data back. Every time I do it resets the program. Absolutely worthless this way. So frustrated and angry with myself for not buying another masterbuilt.

Way off temp, remote nearly useless
The smoker runs about 30 degrees hot, and has no way to calibrate that I can find. And the remote is balky, with low range, and nearly useless.

How are you determining the current temperature? We do not recommend using a third party temp gauge as it is not calibrated for this smoker. This smoker is going to fluctuate some while cooking to help maintain the temp needed for cooking. Mostly great
First: It does a fantastic job smoking meat. I have done brisket, chicken, salmon - all perfect. I have a couple of issues: 1. Why are the stainless steel grates getting rusty? 2. Expect to have to periodically replace the heating element - mine lasted about a year (new one is cheap and easy to replace)

Door Fell Off
I ran this through the seasoning cycle recommended in the manual. At the conclusion of the cycle, I opened the door, and it fell off into my hands giving me two blisters.

Unreliable
This smoker cannot maintain a consistent temp. It sits between 30 degrees above or below what it is set at depending on how it is feeling. The worst part is that mine failed after only 5 months of ownership and roughly 5 uses. It now trips GFCI. This is a very common problem with this smoker and seems to be recurring even when repaired. I cannot recommend this product.

Horrible product
Please do not buy this smoker. Had this for 3 years and always causes problems. When first pre heating, the unit pops the GFIC. Have tried all of the recommended fixes, but nothing seems to work. After an hour or two repeating the pre heat process, the unit will work. I thought using would be easier.

Great So Far
I bought this smoker after much research. I had never grilled or smoked food before. I was glad that it was electric because I didn't want to learn about starting and maintaining the fire and the seemingly hundreds of details regarding the fire. I just want smoked food cooked as easily as possible. I have had this smoker two years and have used it about six or seven times. I have had no problems and thanks to the books included with the smoker, the food was delicious. It even discussed which wood chips to use for different meats. I have not used the method of inserting the probe to determine when the meat is done. Based on the meat, I know how long to smoke per pound. Then I use a regular kitchen thermometer. So... nothing fancy for me. After I use the smoker, I roll it back into my kitchen and after cleaning, I put the cover back on. I don't leave it outside because I think the moisture in the air might damage it.
