Rust

I bought the Chefman Rapid-Boil 1.8L Electric Tea Kettle with Keep Warm and Tea Infuser (Stainless Steel). After the first use, I noticed brown spots on the stainless steel bottom that look like rust, not like normal limescale. Is this normal, or could my kettle be defective? Thank you,

Great Kettle

Couldn’t believe the value for the price of this kettle. Our old one cost four times as much. And didn’t have either the quality or features of this one. We love that it keeps the water hot for several hours. And heats so fast. And also the clear kettle is useful to see how much water is left. This is a great find for our family!!
