I loved this book! I love all of Annie’s books, but I really loved this one. I’d love there to be a sequel so we can have more of Blue Dog Valley and Goldie, Cohen and all the others.

Loved It!
This is exactly what I needed to listen to at the office the day before Thanksgiving. The story is super cute and drags you in right away to Blue Dog Valley, a town not ready for an outsider. Goldie is the perfect new addition to the town, finding herself as she helps revitalize the town. I loved all the animals included in the story (and the residents, too). A great feel-good Christmas story.

An adorable Christmas romance
This book has me wanting to move to small town Wisconsin, get a cat, AND have a goat wearing a tutu. WHO AM I?!? Christmas in Blue Dog Valley was absolutely delightful. It had everything anyone could ever want from a holiday book -the Christmas spirit, small town, animals galore, the banter, and a determined main character! Goldie ends up buying a veterinary clinic in Wisconsin after a break up and the towns people don’t trust her one bit -they much prefer for things to stay the same. She soon realizes that she’ll have to prove herself to everyone except the woman who makes the best cinnamon rolls in the area! The towns people really made this book extra special -from everyone working together on the festival, to the bickering sisters, and the ever-so-handsome Cohen…I couldn’t get enough. I could 100% see this book being turned into a movie and if it does -the goats better be in tutu’s!

Fish out of water
This fish out of water story is delightful from beginning to end. Goldie is such a relatable heroine. The animals, of course, steal the show. Anyone who is wondering what they want to do when they grow up will thoroughly enjoy this novel.

Fantastic pick this one up!!!
Picking up an Annie England Noblin novel is like getting embraced by the warmest and softest blanket during a cold winter's night. I love this immersive and escape feel-good read perfect for a nice week-end read or for winding down after a stressful day. I picked up my very first Noblin book, St Francis Society for Wayward Pets two years ago, and Maps for the Getaway last year, both of which I loved and warmed my soul. I had been looking forward to reading CHRISTMAS IN BLUE DOG VALLEY, and I absolutely loved it! I am from Los Angeles and a city girl and often wondered what it would be like to live and relocate in a small town. So the premise of this story intrigued me. Noblin wrote a romance read that had all the feels and write the character of veterinarian Marigold "Goldie" McKenzie so well, along with the funky residents of small town Blue Dog Valley - the alpacas, potbelly pig, goats in sweaters, and of course, Cohen. I adored how Goldie acclimated to the town and how slowly but surely, the town enveloped her with love and affection. The story is so heartwarming, complete with a bit of Christmas magic and the motley crew of animals that will surely bring a delightful smile to your face. Fantastic!

Good Reading
This was the cutest romance ever. I totally fell in love with this story. The synopsis says it best, “Christmas in Blue Dog Valley by Annie England Noblin is a delightful small-town holiday novel that’s bound to warm your heart with hilarious animal antics and Hallmark movie charm.” Christmas in Blue Dog Valley is the perfect feel-good holiday novel that readers won’t want to miss. It’s the perfect addition to any upcoming holiday or Christmas-in-July roundups!” I couldn’t agree more with those statements. Whoever wrote those remarks were spot on. I personally love Hallmark movies, so this book was my cup of tea. Speaking of tea, I wish I could sample some of Cohen’s cider. It sounded delicious. Cohen is the hero, and he is kind of standoffish but in a comical way. Goldie, the heroine, has no problem speaking up for herself, especially when Cohen is in a ‘grumpy’ mood. Together they make Wisconsin warm and fuzzy. The winter setting with all the snow was refreshing to read since it’s currently toasty where I live. The prologue immediately caught my attention making me continue onto Chapter one and so on. I actually couldn’t stop until I reached the end of the story. It was that good. The cast of characters in the small town wee well developed and relatable. In fact, I wish I could meet them and all their pets too. I’d love it if book two came out quickly since I fell in love with everyone in the small town of Blue Dog Valley. If this was a real destination, then I’d put in on my list to go visit someday. The plot was creative, original and genuinely heartwarming. I personally felt there was an inspirational message of forgiveness threaded throughout the story. The acts of the townsfolk made for the perfect Christmas message, Peace on earth and goodwill to all men. I’ve never read a book by Annie England Noblin but after reading this story, I’m interested to read another book by her. What else can I say other than this is a must read. I hope you love it as much as I did. originally posted at long and short reviews

Warm & wonderful: great characters!
Terrific tale of big city girl learning to love a small town:-) I really loved this one. It's one of the best small-town romances I've read this year. The romance between newcomer veterinarian Goldie and laconic local farmer Cohen is slow burn. In contrast, Dr. Goldie's love affair with the quirky characters in Blue Dog Valley blossoms quickly and is heartwarming, humorous and a bit wonderful. I've never read anything by this author before, but now I will be looking for her work. Her pacing is great and there's never a dull minute from beginning to happy end. Plenty of odd but endearing human characters and some whimsical incidents with a variety of animals ranging from llamas to cats, dogs, guinea pigs and fainting goats: such fun! The upcoming Christmas holiday drives the plot but it's the character interactions that make this a winner. Thanks to Avon and Harper Voyage and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.
