A peculiar sandal
This was a sandal unlike any other I’ve owned. I usually go for Clarks, Tevas, or Birkenstock. It feels very solid on the foot, a very sturdy sole makes you feel removed from the ground. The footbed is comfortable. The straps and leather is where my issues begin. The leather is quality, but THICK. As a result it doesn’t bend as easily. The strap that goes back around the Achilles has NO play and doesn’t want to bend to your contours it hits on the edge and leaves a good chunk of open area. I have a low volume, flat, narrow foot. In order to make my size 10 actually be tight I had to tighten straps considerably and trying to make the Achilles strap lay on my skin and not have an edge biting in and then veering away I had to pull straps Till neoprene was coming through the buckle. My conclusion- these are sandals for casual time NOT hiking, not biking. are heavier than my waterproof sneakers, and my GTX cross training shoes. If you have low volume feet or dislike heavier sandals beware
