On current displeasures

Imagine how shocked I was on seeing large smudges appear a d sometimes disappear on the white triangular corners of my new rug. I felt there were defects caused in the manufacturing process and that would explain the substantial price deduction. Please explain also, why in the world white fringes. Of course, that will become grungy looking in no time. What alternative do I have other than dying the fringes gray or light brown..? Please answer both queries
