Super cute shoe but color washes out

These high tops were my daughter's back to school special pair of shoes. They were adorable and she loves them. We just washed them to then air dry them because they got dirty and my daughter loves that that much. They came our of a regular wash with only about 60% of their original color. Some spots are practically white. My daughter is so bummed and they were very expensive.
