Lots of suction. Only complaint is 20-min battery, wish it was longer. But if I need heavy full rooms cleaning, I use my corded vac. This stick vac for quick cleanups in between heavy vac.
So lightweight I vacuum more often
THis works great for me as I have to vacuum daily due to my 4 dogs, 3 cats and living on a dusty horse property. This is so much better than lugging around a heavy vaccum cleaner and getting tangled in the cord. Works really well on hard floors. Not quite as much pull on our shaggy rug but since that is only rug and we have no carpet its not a problem for me.
Great vacuume for quick cleanups
I have a big vacuum but love my Dyson for quick jobs and for picking up debris after I dust mop my hard floors.

We really like this vacuum as it's lightweight and picks up very well. Only wish it held a charge longer but I'd still buy it again!
Not for Animal/Pet owners - misleading name
This is basically for fine dust and dirt and not real life. I have a golden retriever and black lab and if you try and vacuam a small volume it stops working. Doesn't work with pine needles or really anything bigger than a grain of rice and you will spend 10 minutes trying to empty out and clean every aspect to get it to suck again before the battery runs out and you need it to charge for 4 hours to get 5 minutes of sub-standard clogged performance. The thing I am most angry about is that they call it the animal but is falsely advertised because it can't even handle dog hair. Meant to return it but missed the deadline. Maybe they were talking about neat hairless animals.

I am sorry to hear you are less than satisfied with the vacuum and the difficulties with the machine. The V6 is capable of picking up everyday debris while in standard mode and heavier debris while in MAX mode. The V6 is great for in between cleanings, quick clean ups or small areas as it does feature 20 minutes of constant suction in standard mode and 6 minutes on MAX power for tougher jobs.

Good "extra" vacuum, not good on shag rugs
It's OK. Honestly, I expected more. It's good but not better than most new vacuums I've used in the past. The two biggest issues I have with it: 1. It doesn't work on my shag rug 2. After a few minutes of holding it my hand starts to cramp up Overall I think it's a good secondary vacuum for quick clean ups or to get into small spaces. I received mine as a gift, but don't think I'd ever spend my own money on it.

I am sorry to hear it is not working well on your carpet and difficult to hold. The V6 cordless have 2 modes. It may help to use it in standard mode on your shag rug.

Excellent product so far
We recently purchased this and its been put to great use so far.
I'm in love with the portable Dyson!
A decade ago I bought my first Dyson and I liked it so much I began vacuuming every day because it was fun and effective! I now have an arthritis that makes everything difficult. I decided to try the hand held Dyson Animal. As soon as it charged, I tried it. I am in love!! It is light weight, easily maneuvered, and so strong that it even picks up leaves tracked into the house. It is easy to dump and easy to recharge. I am back to vacuuming every day!@!
