Gel Couture Nail Polish

These shades are incredible, the polish is in the color ‘Gossamer Garments’ which is a beautiful pink and the top coat is in ‘Glazed Chrome’ that gives it this nice frost. It’s a long lasting polish and gives that same gel effect that a trip to the salon would give. I want these in every color now! And did I mention that it is vegan, 8 free and never animal tested!

Ballerina pink
Such a beautiful sheer pink. Very sheer with one coat, dries quickly. When applying more coats to build up the color takes a bit longer to dry but worth it. Very Trendy.

Pretty in pink
I love how the Gossamer Garments is a blush, yet nude natural pink. I think it’s perfect if you want that non color, color look for your nails. It dries quick, and it really only takes about 2 good coats for the color to pop.

Doesn’t look great on tanner skin tones
I’m not a big fan of this shade. I also don’t like how if you wanted to wear it alone without the top (step 2) you would have to add more than two layers to get it to look right. It doesn’t go on like a gel-like polish but it honestly look like and behavior like regular nail polish until you add step 2. Now to the important part for me for any nail polish: does it chip right away?Yes, kind of. The first day I avoided putting my hand in water as much as I usually do, and they held up, but when I washed my hair and did the dishes, they were quick to chip, so I would say avoid much water and wear gloves, and they will last longer.

Milky pink polish
This is a milky pink it looks great on but don’t go over two coats, it starts to look weird. I like how this polish just takes away a subtle yellow color on the nails. Although I like the benefits of the polish I would wear it by itself, I don’t like it. Definitely using the top coat. The polish last about a week then it will start chipping off and peeling off, like in the second pic.

Nice color, old bottle.
Polish was old and separating
Response from Essie Team
Hi M! Thanks for reaching out to us regarding Essie Gel Couture Nail Polish. We're sorry to hear that the bottle was old and separating. Please reach out to the place of purchase for compensation/replacement.
Too sheer
I wasn’t a fan of this line. It’s VERY sheer and thin. No amount of shaking the bottle could fix it, so I think that’s just how the polish is supposed to be. I had to do multiple layers of the polish before it even began to show up. It’s just too thin to do anything. If you love the minimalist, barely there polish aesthetic then this might be for you, but it was a no for me. It’s a shame because I like the concept.

Hi there vlbac2_6458. Thank you for sharing your experience with the Gel Couture color ‘gossamer garments’. We wish this light pink sheer nail color was the look you were hoping for. To get a gorgeous light pink with an opaque finish, try the Gel Couture color ‘matter of fiction’. https://www.essie.com/nail-polish/longwear/pinks/matter-of-fiction
Fast drying, long wearing, subtle color
Applied easy and dried fast within about 5 minutes (no UV light needed). I applied two layers to get the color even. I love the subtlety of this shade. I thought it’d be too cool toned, but was flattering after adding the top coat. Didn’t chip at all and only starting lifting from the nail bed around day 10! Super satisfied with this product!
