Beautiful, celebratory companion story

"Eyes that Speak to the Stars" is a picture book about a boy, who discovers the shining, rising light in his eyes and in the eyes of his family members. The story begins with a hurtful incident at school. A child has drawn a picture of the main character, and in the illustration, the boy's eyes are drawn like two lines. At home, the boy's Baba stands in the mirror with him and says: "Your eyes rise to the skies and speak to the stars." The words of positivity and truth launch the boy into intimate intergenerational moments, where with awe he recognizes the unique light in each of his relative's eyes - from his Baba and Agong to his baby brother Di-Di. Eyes that Speak to the Stars is a beautiful and celebratory story that reminds readers that they are the emperors of their own destiny with bright futures ahead.
