Beautiful Patchwork!

I am a sucker for Patchwork Quilting. It reminds me of my Grandma sitting at the table sewing pieces of material together. I found Gee’s Bend Quilts which connect the patterns of their quilts to the creator. This gave me the opportunity to learn about the history behind my quilt. I fell in love with a Green Multicolor F/Q size quilt (88” X 92”) named “Lucy Mingo 2”. The pattern is called Housetop with Half Square Blocks and the creator of this design is Lucy Mingo. The colors of green, brown, light brown, tan, light blue, darker blue, and orange makes it appear like you're looking through a kaleidoscope. Also, these colors give the quilt a thanksgiving vibe. I am currently using my quilt this summer. The quilt is lightweight and the quality is superb. Also, it's reversible with a solid light brown color. It's made with 100% Cotton materials making it easy to wash in cold water and dry with low heat. I am absolutely thrilled with this quilted comforter. It's got the look and feel of a vintage quilt. The colors have a washed out look, which to me adds to the coziness of it and makes it look like a quilt your grandmother could have made years ago. It's soft and comforting and not too heavy, but very well made. Not cheap and thin. It's machine washable for convenience. I really love it.

Beautiful

This quilt is stunning! The quality of the workmanship is well above anything I expected. It is going to look great in my master bedroom. I love old timey quilt appearance. It will go well with my current decor.

Quilt

The Lucy Mingo green quilt is a very nice design and adds a new look and feel to a room. The material is not overly heavy like some quilts can be. Its got a softer feel to the material as well. The colors and pattern is pretty nice. The only thing that would have been done better is color of sticking. The white really stands out with the colors of the quilt. Overall a very nice quilt.

Beautiful Quilt

I got the Showstopper Green Lucy Mingo Quilt and I love it! It is absolutely beautiful. The quilt comes with a story about the original quilt maker. This quilt is a replica of a quilt made by Lucy Mingo who was a spokesperson during the Civil Rights Movement. There was a group of Freedom Quilters from Gee's Bend who made and designed these wonderful quilts. After reading the story, it made me very proud to own one of these precious quilts. Yes, it is a replica but I'm proud of those ladies and what they accomplished. The quilt is made very well, and it so comfy. It is a perfect summertime quilt and it adds to the décor of my room. Overall, this is a wonderful quilt, with an inspiring story. It is beautiful, functional and I am so thrilled with it.
