Updated but still mature

I liked this scent for a more mature woman. I am almost 40 and I feel like this may be for someone aged 50 plus. I didn’t dislike it, there were strong hints of vanilla to update from the original shamar, which was more powdery and reminiscent of chanel no. 5.

Gorgeous

I purchased this a few weeks ago. My mother wore Shalimar and I was curious to try this iteration. It is lovely. Less heavy, still a bit smokey with a sweet and spicy dry down.

What fragrance are you wearing?

I had the pleasure of reviewing the iconic Guerlain Shalimar fragrance, thanks to Influenster and Guerlain. Right from the start, the bottle is absolutely stunning and unique, making it a must have for any fragrance collector. As for the fragrance itself, Shalimar is a complex masterpiece. The top notes of bergamot and lemon greet you first, offering a fresh and zesty opening. As the fragrance develops, it transitions into the heart notes of jasmine and rose, adding a floral and elegant touch. Finally, it settles into a rich and warm base of vanilla, tonka bean, and incense, giving it that luxurious, sensual finish. A little goes a long way with Shalimar, and it’s definitely a fragrance that stands out. The wearability of the fragrance intensity and depth, it’s best suited for perfume enthusiasts or a more mature audience. Over application can make it a bit overwhelming, so it’s best enjoyed in moderation but the fragrance will last all day. The price point is quite reasonable given the quality of ingredients and the longevity of the fragrance. It truly lasts all day, which is a big plus. And of course, the bottle’s iconic design only adds to its appeal the packaging was perfect and my fragrance arrived in perfect conditions. In summary, Shalimar is a sophisticated and timeless fragrance, perfect for special occasions. It’s a wonderful addition to any collection, especially for those who appreciate complexity and elegance.

Musk

The bottle is gorgeous. I love that you can see the rich color of the perfume. However, the scent is strong and smells like white musk. It's not a smell that I like to wear. However, my husband's grandma loves it so she has the perfume now. She really likes it.
