Timeless 💖

I recently learned from a perfumery student that if you fall in love with a fragrance, you should follow the perfumer, research the “nose” behind it and explore their other creations. That’s how I ended up here… and this one by Delphine does not disappoint. It’s classy, sophisticated, and gives “granny”, but in the most chic, timeless, silk-blouse-and-pearls kind of way. Very heavy scent

I loved original Shalimar and read that Shalimar L'Essence was a newer version with a musk scent. As it turns out it's extremely heavy and somewhat cloying. Use very sparingly as it caused sneezing. It may work as a long lasting evening scent but I'd suggest trying before buying.

Classic Perfume with Powdery Notes

I was genuinely surprised that I didn’t particularly care for Guerlain Shalimar EDP, especially since I love several of the Guerlain Allegoria fragrances. Shalimar is undeniably a classic and has clearly stood the test of time, which I can appreciate from a perfumery standpoint. However, on my skin it leaned very powdery and musky, and overall felt a bit too mature for my personal taste. While I understand why this fragrance is so iconic and beloved by many, it just wasn’t the right fit for me.
