Holy cow

So these arrived in plastic bags and when I opened them the smell of mildew was overpowering. I washed them and so much fluff came off in both the washer and dryer I didn’t know if anything would be left of the rugs. They are beautiful but I’m concerned about the quality and longevity of the rugs. Super disappointed.

The odor may result from the rugs being sealed during shipping, and we recommend airing them out in a well-ventilated space to help eliminate any residual smell. As for the shedding, some fluff is common with new woven rugs after the first wash, but it should significantly reduce after a few washes. TERRIBLE

Yesterday they arrived in plastic bags and I could smell them on my front porch before I even opened the packages. I order three of these rugs. They wreak of mold and chemicals. They LOOKED beautiful so I thought I would given them a shot and washed them. Not only did washing not help the smell, they literally filled my washing machine with fibers, bunches of the yarn that shed. The smell was so bad even after washing that I had to put them in the garage and I did not dare dry them in my dryer as it took me 15 minutes to get all the lint and shedding out of the washer drum holes. I would be afraid what it would do to my dryer. Then it also made a massive mess all over my floors and carpets on the way to the garage. Tomorrow I'll take them back to the store. Macy's PLEASE stop replying to reviews that say they are made with the finest quality materials. They are completely un-useable. I expect more from Macy's. I feel like you should pay me for the trouble I went through all for nothing

Pretty and Stinky

Received this rug packaged decent. Opened up to a VERY strong moldy and musty smell that knocks you out. It even felt damp to the touch. It seems to be a nicely made rug but the smell is so overpowering. I bought the longer rug as well and it arrived the same way. Sad I had to return such beautiful rugs, this should have been monitored a little better.
