Limited use case cooking system

The limits on what pot/pans you can use end any usefulness this cooking system might have. The plastic melted already after a few nights of use and the igniter even popped off. I want a single fuel system and use other Jetboil products that I would highly recommend, but this I'd advise others to avoid. If I spent 1/4 as much on it I'd still be disappointed.

Response from Johnson Outdoors

Thank you for leaving your review. We apologize for the late response. Recently, Jetboil discovered an issue with the new MilliJoule cooking system that falls below our quality standards. There have been isolated instances in which the plastic material surrounding the baseplate of the stove melts when used in certain conditions. While this is not a safety concern, and we have not received any reports of injury from consumers, Jetboil takes this matter seriously and holds customer and consumer satisfaction to the highest priority.

Easy to use

This is a really cool stove for high-alpine or cold-weather adventures. Jetboil provided me with one to check out and it worked great during several cold-weather backpacking trips at 10,000 feet. It’s a pretty ingenious method for getting better performance out of a stove in harsh conditions, and it’s a lot easier to use than a liquid-fuel stove! Just be prepared for the flare up when you flip the canister over after priming it.

Yet to be tested in alpine conditions but....

I bought this stove to hopefully be a replacement, or as much of a replacement as possible, to my MSR Whisperlite. I wanted something that that I could use in high alpine and winter conditions, while having a push ignitor. I've been stuck in the tent many times and never wanted to ignite the whisperlite in the vestibule. So, I bought this so I could melt snow while still in the tent. So far it has worked really nicely by my house at over 9,000 feet. It starts fast and boils quick. It's compact and super light and I'm looking forward to really testing it in harsher alpine conditions.
