Stiff & Cheap Accent Color Panels

I purchased this shirt and I like it quite a bit, but less than the two Lacoste polos I already own. The side panels that have the accent colors (red & black or orange & yellow) are disappointing. The accent colors are achieved via a plastic material that feels stiff and cheap and I am concerned that the color stipes may over time peel or chip off of the garment.
