Different taste, not removing any PPM.
I’m not really sure what it’s filtering out. Don’t really notice a change in taste that’s good. There is a different taste for sure. The PPM is not lower than the source, which is the tap. In fact the PPM coming out of the filter is 3 ppm higher than the tap.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the LG LT1000P water filter. It's designed to reduce select contaminants such as chlorine taste and odor, lead, mercury, and certain pharmaceuticals, rather than lower total dissolved solids (TDS), which is what the PPM reading measures. A difference in taste can occur depending on your water source, but it's not unusual for the PPM to remain the same or slightly vary after filtration. If you’d like help reviewing your setup or learning more about what the filter is designed to do, private message us on social media @LGUSSupport with your contact details. We'll be happy to help!
Bad tasting water
This filter is horrible. Water tastes so bad. Do you have an option with Extruded carbon?

Terrible tasting water
The filter that came with the refrigerator filtered the water very well. The two filters I have used as replacements make the water taste like I’m drinking from plastic. There is a plastic/rubber taste even after running 5 gallons of water through the system. I will definitely be looking for after market filters in the future. These are too costly for the results

Hey there! Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Filtered water tastes like chemicals.
I've had my refrigerator and the filter for more than 4 months. No matter how much I flush the water filter, the water from the fridge tastes worse than the tap water. The filter water tastes horrible.

Hey there! It's concerning your filtered water tastes like chemicals even after flushing. First, double-check you're using the correct LG filter model and that it's installed properly. Try running a lot more water through it. The taste could also be from the fridge's water lines. If it continues, contact us on social media @LGUSSupport to get connected on possible solutions. We want you to have good-tasting water! ^ Diego
Filter does not work well
The filter does not seem to work well. There is still a bad taste in the water and ice. I followed all the steps and the links provided. Then looked at the troubleshooting link to find that step one defeats the purpose of me wanting to use the LG water and ice. If my house water tastes good then there would be little to no reason to use LG’s filter water and it should then have no reason to taste bad in the first place. I bought this fridge for the specialty ice it makes not I cannot use it as it makes everything have a bad taste.

Thanks for reaching out to us and leaving us a review, Jake! We’re happy to help ensure your water filter is working properly and providing the best experience. If you’re looking to enhance the taste of your water and ice, trying a new LT1000P filter might make a difference. Running water through the filter for about five minutes after installation can help clear out any carbon dust or impurities. Checking your water supply ensures clean, high-quality water, while cleaning the water dispenser helps maintain freshness. Allowing the water to run a bit longer can help clear any air pockets as well. Feel free to reach out through our social media channels @LGUSSupport with your contact details via a private message—we’re always here to help further on this! ^Anthony 💙
Taste like erosion
I think these reviews are so true. Water tasted good with new fridge and filter. Once replaced it’s all chemical or some kind of erosion taste. I doubt pipe has issue because direct tap water tasted better. It’s a mistake to buy LG fridge not the filter. I will try one more replacement and then done with it. Brita water filter taste better.

Two Water Filters Wasted in Two Months
I have not been happy with the water quality while using this filter. I tried changing out the filter every 30 days but the water still does not taste good. I bought a water tester and found that my tap water reads 149 on the TDS meter and the refrigerator water reads 127. That does not seem to be much of an improvement. I just bought a ZeroWater filter container and the reading on that filtered water is ZERO! Does LG make a higher quality filter so I can enjoy the water and ice from my LG refrigerator? No one in my family wants to drink water or use the ice from my LG.

My water quality is bad too with a brand new filter
I am having the same problem. The tap water tastes much better! My family won’t use it either. I have tried several new filters, making sure they click in place and then changed the water line as well. Help!
