Not as high quality as I hoped

Bought this jacket 4 years ago and the zipper just blew out. Covered by lifetime warranty but out of stock and nothing comparable is available. For reference I have a similar North Face jacket I bought 15 years ago and have not had problems with the zipper until this year. Now I’m without a jacket for the season.

Nice ski jacket - beware of Velcro wrist straps

Bought this jacket a little over a year ago as a dedictated ski jacket. My Alpinist shell from 1998 was finally duef an upgrade. Yep, I keep my clothing for a long time. Anyway, I was looking for a shell as I already had a nano puff jacket. Features most important to me were a removable hood (I hate hoods) pit zips, and a sleeve pocket for ski passes. This jacket fit the bill although it also included the zip out insulation jacket. Not a deal breaker. I really like the style and fit of this jacket with the insulation layer. Unfortunately when it is removed, it makes the shell too loose to wear without it looking way too big for me. My solution has been to use my rain jacket for days when I just want the shell only. Besides that, my only major gripe has been with the Velcro strap on the sleeve. I use them all the time and unfortunately the stitching has come out of both sleeves. I’ve restitched them but I was hesitant for doing it because of the goretex/water repellance. I hope this didn’t compromise the material. Overall I feel the jacket was a good purchase that suits me well. As long as the Velcro holds up after I stitched it I’m sure it will last for years.

Good for 1/2 price

Kind of good. I like the liner, lots of pockets and liner in the shell. I skied it on a -15 day, wasnt warm enough. Goretex shell is light. The cut could be slimmer, it is kind of a. Frumpy jacket. For the msrp cost it does not meet expectations.

Perfect jacket!

I bought this for my husband for Christmas and HE LOVES IT! He says that it is the best present he has ever received! It does look great on him: very sleek and elegant while also highly functional. He loves all the pockets, the 3-in-1 construction, and the removable hood! It's a gorgeous jacket that will last for years and years, never going out of style.
