The 989 M model's very unique colors, skeleton dial, and exhibition case back make it a compelling choice for those wanting to get some attention without seeming garish. Although described as "Blue", the watch case is a "sandwich" of face and back in a deep, blued gunmetal and a center body of a dark matt, "dusry" blue. The matt dark-blue silicon band is a perfect complement to the design. The watch displays a high level of quality control in its manufacture. The finish and details are without fault. There is one design detail that warrants a note: the lugs come to sharp corners on each side of their end. This feels like the lugs might dig into the wrist, painfully. But, after several days of wearing, this hasn't affected comfort. This is the second heaviest watch in my collection of 10 that ranges from 3 oz to 12 oz (!), but that weight disappears when worn on my average wrist. The stainless-steel skeletal dial provides an attractive contrast with the case. The narrow hands are of simple design to avoud even more visual complexity to the skeleton face. But, the hands can only accommodate minimal lume so don't count on much reading time at night. I do miss the date function that a skeketon design precludes. I would have paid the extra for a sapphire crystal to preserve the look of the overall perfect finishes. Customer service deserves credit. I now live in Mexico, 800 miles south of the US border. The watch was shipped by DHL. It first went to Germany, site of DHL's international hub and then to Mexico City where delivery transferred to the dreaded Mexican postal system after passing through customs. I retrieved it at our central post office 28 days after placing the order. Despite adding my contact info to DHL tracking several times for promised updates, I got none over these four weeks. Based on the shared experience of expats and locals, I concluded the watch had been lost or stolen en-route. Stuhrling customer service was both patient and reassuring during this ordeal. They provided the only progress update that I was unable to uncover for tracking with the DHL app. They also said that if the watch was lost, a replacement or refund would be made at my option.

Quality Watch

I have quite a few other watches, mostly chronographs and divers. This is the first skeleton watch that i have purchased and I am very pleased with it. It seems to be well put together and very solid. The watch has a nice weight to it and the strap seems to be high quality and very comfortable. I prefer larger watches and this watch wears well on your wrist. Simple yet elegant design I feel like i can wear on weekends out or to the office. Satisfied customer
