Fit short and wide

I love the look of these. I ordered tan, despite them saying tan the photos look more mustard/70’s yellow/gold so I was surprised they were actually tan when I got them. They look small and I was afraid would be too tight at the ball which is a common concern for me having shorter but wider feet (true 6.5 wide, usually wear a 7m fine). These are almost too short but the band that goes across the ball area is sooo wide. My foot slides forward and the ankle strap doesn’t hold it back enough so my toes start to go over the edge. Even for wide shoes these would be excessive. Bummed I was hoping these were what I was looking for.
